The history behind prostitution is dated back to the many years of the Sumerians and the Babylonians. Prostitution was a form of religious sexual practices in The years of 5th BC, which in that time. It was common that mostly young woman would have lost their virginity in the temples of Ishtar to many unknown men. To this was the way women would earn money to be able to give to their love goddess Astarte. As the years passed prostitution was introduced in Egypt and the Greek times till it got to France later on where it was made legal in 1161. When King Henry II allowed stew-houses (brothels) made for women who chose to make a living out of being prostituted. And women were not allowed to live or be married if they wanted to work at the stew houses. Prostitution in France was in many ways that people in power would make easy money from these women.
The events that influenced me before choosing this topic was trying to pick something that is very normal to the world now at days, and something that people don't really pay attention to till it is made a big deal of. Some examples would be like world hunger, animal cruelty, police brutality and global warming are many issue to the country and the world . And us as people have not yet acted on these problems.
